Wangjing is an important agricultural town located in Thoubal district in Manipur. It is located at a distance of 6 m from district headquarters of Thoubal. The town is bounded by the Heirok village in east, Tentha village in the south-west and the other side of the town is surrounded by agricultural land. The town lies between 24.6^oN latitude and 94.03^oE longitude. The average altitude of the town is 2513 feet above sea level. Wangjing River, flows through the middle of the town.

According to the census India 2011, the total population of Wangjing is 8,055 out of which 3,885 are males and the remaining 4,170 are females. The average literacy rate of the town is 81.44 %.  The male literacy rate is 91.11 % and the female literacy rate is 72.65 %. Te official language here is Manipuri.

Wangjing is easily reached through roadways from Imphal and other neighboring states. There are taxis and buses available from Imphal to Wangjing. The Imphal-Moreh national highway connects Wangjing to other parts of the state. The town also serves as the junction between Heirok and Tentha village.The town does not have its own airport. The nearest air link is Imphal International Airport located in Imphal. There is also no railway station in Wangjing. The nearest rail head is the Jiribam railway station.
